Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars....

One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it.....

It is a most mortifying reflection for a man to consider what he has done, compared to what he might have done......

The road leading to a goal does not separate you from the destination; it is essentially a part of it......

Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion.  You must set yourself on fire......

If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up......

It is never too late to be who you might have been......

Know your limits, but never stop trying to exceed them.......

Dreams are free, so free your dreams......

It is better to rise from life as from a banquet - neither thirsty nor drunken......

From a worldly point of view there is no mistake so great as that of being always right.....

He who makes a paradise of his bread makes a hell of his hunger......

Even nectar is poison if taken to excess......

Be moderate in order to taste the joys of life in abundance.......

To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short.....

We find our energies are actually cramped when we are overanxious to succeed......

We labor to make a house a home, then every time we're expecting visitors, we rush to turn it back into a house......

If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday.......

Until lions have their historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunters.......

Each time history repeats itself, the price goes up.....

Man is the only trained animal who expects his reward before he does his trick. .....

Man is the only animal that laughs and weeps; for he is the only animal that is struck with the difference between what things are and what they ought to be......

Man will do many things to get himself loved; he will do all things to get himself envied......

As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities......

Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally.....

Give to every human being every right that you claim for yourself......

No man is above the law and no man below it.....

Silence never won rights.  They are not handed down from above; they are forced by pressures from below....

Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is.....

The only thing wrong with doing nothing is that you never know when you're finished.....

The most violent element in society is ignorance.....

Before we work on artificial intelligence why don't we do something about natural stupidity....?

In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play.....

The great man is he who does not lose his child's-heart.....

To speak truly, few adult persons can see nature.  Most persons do not see the sun.  At least they have a very superficial seeing.  The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and heart of the child.  The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood.......

Adults are obsolete children.....

I am often accused of being childish.  I prefer to interpret that as child-like.  I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things.  I tend to exaggerate and fantasize and embellish.  I still listen to instinctual urges.  I play with leaves.  I skip down the street and run against the wind.  I never water my garden without soaking myself.....

If you want to be creative, stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention that characterizes children before they are deformed by adult society.....

Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again......

Trust your own instinct.  Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone else's.......

The most decisive actions of our life... are most often unconsidered actions. ....

Instinct is the nose of the mind.......

I would rather trust a woman's instinct than a man's reason. .....

The larger the island of knowledge, the longer the shoreline of wonder.....

Knowledge is haunted by the ghost of past opinion. .....

A love affair with knowledge will never end in heartbreak.....
